Why are you excited to be part of the BSC Team?
Community is so important. The Black Community is what kept me going through stressful and draining moments, and I want to provide that support for incoming and returning students.

In my spare time, I love working out and spending time with family and friends!

Alex Thompson
Why are you excited to be on the team?
I am exited to be on the team because it gives me an opportunity to have a hands on experiencing with creating events and opportunities on campus for the black community. I hope through this team that I am able to make this campus seem a lot more approachable for black students on campus.
Marwa Alansi
Why are you excited to be on the team?
I’m excited to join the BSC team because I want to help raise social awareness on the issues of Black struggle, and inclusiveness on campus. As well as use my newly gained knowledge from this internship to not only better the University of Washington, but also implement these findings in my future career in Business.

Why are you excited to be on the team?
To me, a society that’s able to support one another in evolving and advancing to higher levels is vital. Therefore, I want to be able to constitute unity within the black community with the hopeful result that we can help each other prosper.
Hobbies?
I enjoy hiking, traveling, and relaxing with family and friends.

Why are you excited to be on the team?
I am super excited to help revive the black community on campus through engaging, resourceful and fun events.
Hobbies?
Some of my hobbies include, playing/coaching basketball, volunteering with children, and traveling.
Rachel Smithers
Why are you excited to be on the team?
I’m excited to advocate for inclusive experiences and essential opportunities for black students. I want to motivate students on campus to connect and encourage each other. I also enjoy being a part of an inspirational team that strives to create a strong, supportive community!
Hobbies?
I love to do makeup, paint, binge-watch tv, and explore.
Sahra Ibrahim
Why are you excited to be on the team?
Im Excited and honored to be on BSC. I’m prepared to use this role to make sure that black voices and issues that are happening are being heard, as well as making sure the changes that happen on campus help our community as well as other marginalized groups on campus. It’s time for UW to change and actually care about the struggles marginalized communities on campus are going through.
Hobbies?
Photography, listening to LANY and The 1975 on repeat, and rewatching Harry Potter movies.

Why are you excited to be on the team?
I am excited to be part of a team that is creating a forum for all black students to voice their differences, interests, goals and ideas, as well as promoting activities of common interest, cultural and educational benefits.
